When you're on a long road trip it's sometimes hard to stay healthy and eat fresh. We were traveling the Mendocino County Coast of California and Stumbled on this cute farmers market when I saw Rose Jelly. I had never heard of Rose Jelly. I don't think the girl at the stand had tried it either. She didn't quite no how to explain it to me. She said, "it tastes like roses." Have you ever actually eaten a rose? It does not quite taste as good as it smells. I was curious and decided to try this cute jar of roses from a local farm. I figured I would save it for toast when I got home, but Paul had other ideas for my jelly. He looked in the cooler to see what he was working with and whipped up the most delicious sandwich. Tofu never tasted so good! Recipe and a link to the jelly farm below.
Tofu Rose Jelly Sandwich
Sprouted Firm Tofu
Vegenaise with a light sprinkle of Garlic Powder
Thinly Sliced Gruyere Cheese
Served on Ciabatta Bread Rolls
Paired with Fresh Blackberries
and..... dip the sandwich in more Rose Jelly! YUM!
OZ Farm doesn't seem to sell the rose jelly on their site unfortunately. If you know of a good rose jelly to buy online let us know in the comments. I've been craving it ever since.
